New crew neck sweater for the 26AW season. This piece features the Brushed Yak/Shetland wool material that has been a staple since the brand's first season. It combines the firm, resilient texture of Shetland wool with the soft, skin-friendly feel of yak, which is similar to cashmere. The sweater is carefully shaped and knitted using a hand-operated flat knitting machine.
Hand-operated knitting machines are now rare globally. Unlike automated machines, they allow for manual adjustments, making it possible to knit delicate yarns or achieve a tighter gauge that would be difficult otherwise. Because this process is labor-intensive and cannot be mass-produced, it has become a rare craft in an era focused on efficiency and profit. The fabric is knitted with a loose gauge and then fulled to shrink it to size, resulting in a fluffy texture that feels lighter than it looks. The design incorporates three types of heathered yarns combined across different parts, continuing the style from 25AW.
This is the crew neck model. The collar is finished with a double-layer construction, providing a voluminous look that stands out even when worn on its own. The relaxed fit also makes it a stylish choice for a single layer.
