New for the 26AW season from Aquellos Ojos Verdes BISHU, this Henry neck shirt is crafted from leno weave fabric, chosen for its lightweight and warm properties. The base uses fine white yarn, while the weft features a thicker, two-tone melange brown wool yarn. A wet tumbler finish creates random, leather-like textures, giving the material a rich character. The fabric displays different textures on each side, so both sides are utilized in the design.
The garment is washed for softness, resulting in a texture that feels as soft and voluminous as knitwear despite being a woven fabric. Inspired by the question of what shirts were worn under hunting jackets, this piece is a reconstruction of a 19th-century work shirt. Wax cotton fabric is used on the collar and cuffs for reinforcement and stain resistance, with garment washing adding a natural stretch and knit-like feel. It is a piece that returns to the prototype of woven shirts before the invention of the Henry neck T-shirt.
