This design combines a 3-pocket work shirt with a well-tailored frock coat. The unique construction, with shoulder seams running diagonally from the neck to the back of the armholes and connecting to the sleeve seams, is reminiscent of 18th to 19th-century dress coats. The diagonal shoulder line creates a clean look from the front, and the slight bias cut allows the fabric to naturally follow the body. The sleeves are three-quarter length, ending just above the wrist, with no cuffs or pleats. The hem features a deep, scooped round design.

Sewn with all-cotton thread and finished with dyed cotton-covered metal buttons, this is a Made in USA blue label model. It uses fabric woven domestically from American cotton. Originally intended for flannel-brushed pajamas, this shirt uses the raw, unbrushed cotton as it comes off the loom. The patterns are cut oversized but shrink during the washing and dyeing process to become soft and fit perfectly.

PURPLE-LOGWOOD is dyed using natural logwood (bloodwood), offering a deep, rich appearance. Logwood is a tree native to the West Indies and South America, used since ancient times by the Aztec and Maya civilizations to dye fabrics purple and black. It became a valuable commodity in 15th-century Europe, even appearing in history when Queen Elizabeth I of England raided Spanish transport ships for it. The natural dye results in unique color variations, individual differences, and fading, which contribute to its distinct texture and enjoyment of aging. During the washing process, the panels blend together, creating a sense of unity that goes beyond a simple collection of fabric.

TENDER Co. clothing is rooted in antique workwear and machinery, particularly from the British steam locomotive era. A tender is the carriage that carries coal and water for a steam locomotive. Because they had to carry enough fuel to travel across Britain, they were built incredibly sturdy from well-forged iron. TENDER Co. incorporates these elements of durability into their designs, from research to manufacturing. These items are meant to be worn hard and daily, just like a locomotive tender, while respecting the history and stories they embody.
