The B.G.S. Collection is based on archive models supplied to the British military between the 1880s and 1950s, specifically for soldiers handling heavy artillery. It uses the SL15111 last, which features a slightly wider, square-shaped toe and a distinct shape from the arch to the heel compared to the 266 last used in the Military Collection.
This model is the iconic SANDERS punched cap derby. It is carefully crafted using the Goodyear welt method on a chunky, near-square original last. The perforation detailing prevents the shoe from looking too heavy, allowing it to blend naturally with casual outfits. The derby design, featuring open lacing, allows for easy on and off.
The upper is made of polished leather, which is glossy, resistant to scratches and stains, and relatively water-resistant. You can maintain the shine by brushing and wiping with a soft cloth dampened with a small amount of water, making it a great choice for those new to leather shoes.
SANDERS is a renowned manufacturer based in Northampton, the heart of the British footwear industry, with over 130 years of history. Founded in 1873, the company remains family-managed and continues to uphold traditional Goodyear welt construction while utilizing high-quality natural materials. They hold the ISO9002 assurance certification and export to over 30 countries worldwide.
