Hello. This is Nukui from andPheb.

Today, I would like to introduce the Clear Heavy Broadcloth shirt, which can be called the signature of NONNOTTE.
When talking about NONNOTTE shirts, we must first touch upon the fabric.
"Clear Heavy Broadcloth," which the brand continues to create every season.
It is a special heavy broadcloth that serves as the core of NONNOTTE's shirt-making.
This fabric is not just a thick and durable shirt material. It uses organic extra-long staple cotton to create an original 35-count single yarn. Developed in collaboration with Kaneta Orimono in Shizuoka Prefecture, it took 2 years to spin the yarn and another 2 years to weave it to the ideal density. A total of 4 years were spent to complete it.
The goal was to combine the beautiful luster of a dress shirt with the toughness required for everyday wear without hesitation.
With beautiful shirts, you worry about wrinkles every time you wear them and have to iron them. On the other hand, if you prioritize durability, it inevitably leans toward a rough impression. The interesting thing about NONNOTTE's craftsmanship is that they don't compromise on either, but try to achieve both.
In fact, the charm of this fabric is that while it has a beautiful luster, it also feels somewhat rugged. It is a shirt fabric that looks cool, including the unevenness unique to thick yarns and the wrinkles that develop as you wear it in. Wearing it without a single wrinkle is not the only correct way. It looks elegant even when worn roughly, and you can enjoy the process of breaking it in.
Shirts made with this kind of fabric are the ones you find yourself reaching for, and before you know it, you've been wearing them for a long time. Personally, I am drawn to that charm as everyday wear.
I am one of those who have been captivated by it. I was moved by the heavy broadcloth fabric that designer Sugihara had worn extensively. It was tough and beautiful despite the wrinkles. I use it myself, and even though I have washed it many times, it has a toughness that makes me think, "Is this still new?"
This time, we have two models made with the same heavy broadcloth but with different approaches: the "Oversized Shirt," which features a relaxed silhouette, and the "Draping Shirt 001," which stands out for its three-dimensional form.
The keywords are "the strength of the fabric" and "the difference in silhouette."
The structural form is created precisely because it is a heavy broadcloth with firmness and resilience. It doesn't just follow the body; there is an interesting aspect where the fabric itself creates the shape. One piece to enjoy three-dimensional modeling, and another to enjoy the generous volume. I will introduce them by focusing on the special fabric that NONNOTTE spent time creating and the two silhouettes that make the most of it.

An oversized shirt developed as a staple of NONNOTTE. It features a generous body width and a line that flows from the shoulders to the sleeves. While it has room, it is not just big; the charm is the silhouette that naturally settles into shape when worn. The movement of the fabric as it pulls away from the body and the drape that is born from it.
By using heavy broadcloth with firmness and resilience, it doesn't just fall softly, but creates a three-dimensional form as if it contains air. Every time you move, shadows are created on the fabric, making the relaxed silhouette look even more impressive.

The collar is a basic regular collar. A design that maintains elegance whether worn open or closed. The puffy, voluminous expression is also wonderful.

The hem is finished with a gentle round, designed to create a natural flow even when worn as an outer layer. A single layer of fabric is applied to the inside. As you wear and wash it, the puckering will be emphasized and completed.

The sleeves are set wide, with a clean finish that doesn't feel bulky even when rolled up. A single dart that gathers the thick arm gives it a simple yet clean appearance.

Back silhouette. By using a non-tuck specification, the back area is finished cleanly. It features a simple, streamlined silhouette that suppresses unnecessary bulk. The beauty of the fabric stands out.
The Oversized Shirt has a relaxed feel that allows you to wear it roughly, while the silhouette itself has a presence.
You can wear it alone or throw it over a T-shirt. It is a shirt that I want you to enjoy the expression of the fabric and the three-dimensional form typical of NONNOTTE.
I wore Vaporous Gray. A pale gray close to white. With a soft hue that subtly contains gray, it has a calm elegance that is different from pure white.

The other color, Obsidian, is a color that means obsidian. It is a deep black, and you can enjoy a calm impression and a sharp atmosphere. A soft black. It's fresh. Even those who like all-black can enjoy the cohesion and change.
One more thing. The Draping Shirt 001, which shines with a sense of pattern.

Next, I would like to introduce NONNOTTE's "Draping Shirt 001."
Let's do a wear report on this in Obsidian.
It's a bit different from a regular oversized shirt.
It is a piece that not only has a large body width but also has the shape of the garment itself created through three-dimensional cutting. With heavily dropped shoulders, shoulder lines that wrap around from the back, and complexly designed armholes, it creates a unique drape even when the sleeves are down.
The overall silhouette is a rounded cocoon shape. The impression changes when viewed from the front, side, or back, and you can enjoy different expressions depending on the angle of view.

It has a presence that makes it a protagonist even when tucked in. It looks great both tucked in and out. Please try matching it freely with your pants.
This kind of garment making, which is not just simply large, is what makes NONNOTTE interesting. Where to add volume and how to make the fabric move. Through ingenious fine-tuning of the pattern, a familiar item like a shirt shows a completely different expression.

This time, we adopted a rounded open collar without a collar stand, adding a moderate sense of ease to the neckline. While enjoying the distinctive silhouette, you can incorporate it into your daily styling without feeling self-conscious.

The shoulder width is generous, and plenty of fabric is used for the back, making the front minimal. A rounded silhouette. The armholes are also generous.

Back silhouette. This is also non-tucked. A distinctive pattern made to extend significantly beyond the shoulders.
A one-of-a-kind silhouette with plenty of fabric used under the armpits, creating a drape. The side seam connecting the front and back panels is shifted slightly forward, and when you lower your arms, a directional drape and three-dimensionality appear.

With the shoulders and body width being generous, the sleeves are shorter. This is a 4-dart specification. Beauty is also expressed at the cuffs.
With that, I will also try on the Vaporous Gray.

Vaporous Gray is not as noticeable as pure white. Personally, I would like to wear it casually with painter pants, or since it is a special occasion, combine it with NONNOTTE pants made of different materials to enjoy the expression of the fabric with my whole body.
Creative patterns and fabrics. Yet it is easy to move in and makes me want to wear it every day.
It is also grateful for fans that the design changes every season or undergoes exquisite minor changes, continuing to fascinate us.
Just like, this color and this shape for this year,
for all of you,
a staple shirt you would be in trouble without,
I hope it becomes that.
For those who want to try wearing something a little different from their usual shirts, this is a piece I definitely want you to try on.
