These athletic shoes are based on the original sole molds and lasts designed in the 1980s. By stripping away unnecessary decorations, the design highlights the functionality and silhouette of the era, resulting in a vintage-inspired pair.
Featuring a heavy-ounce canvas upper, the shoes are finished with an 'Aa' (Asahi athletic) logo on the heel patch.
ASAHI is a shoe manufacturer with over 120 years of history based in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Known as a city of rubber, Kurume has long thrived on rubber product manufacturing, and ASAHI is a key part of that heritage. They continue to craft shoes using techniques cultivated over their long history, with all production carried out at their Kurume factory. Utilizing lasts from the 1970s and traditional manufacturing methods, they produce universal items such as deck shoes and running shoes.
