These are 5-pocket jeans developed with the goal of meticulously analyzing American vintage jeans from the early 1950s and reproducing the material texture, sewing specifications, and silhouette of that time.
For the material, we use orSlow's original selvedge denim, which is slowly woven on old-fashioned shuttle looms using yarn spun on 1953 vintage spinning machines.
To reproduce the natural unevenness characteristic of denim from that era, we developed it with attention to the thickness of the yarn, the appearance of irregular slubs, and even the weave structure. Through repeated wearing and washing, natural vertical fading and irregular color loss reminiscent of early 1950s vintage jeans will appear, aging into a unique texture.
For sewing, we use 100% cotton sewing thread, the same as the denim. Unlike polyester thread, cotton thread naturally changes color and texture along with the fabric, creating a look like vintage jeans that have been worn for many years.
Also, because it refers to the manufacturing methods of the 1950s, you can see the phenomenon where the side seams twist to the right with repeated wearing and washing. This is one of the characteristics called 'leg twist' seen in denim that did not have sufficient anti-shrinkage and anti-twist processing at the time. It is not a product defect, but a reproduction of the natural aging of vintage jeans.
The silhouette is a straight fit with more room compared to orSlow's classic model '105 STANDARD DENIM'. It is finished with a rugged and loose silhouette typical of jeans from the early 1950s.
